faq (Frequently asked questions)

How long does it take to build my smoker?

  • Our current build time is approximately 4–6 weeks from the time your order is confirmed. Build times may vary depending on the season and the level of customization, but we'll keep you updated throughout the process.

Do you ship across Canada?

  • Yes! We ship our products across Canada.

Shipping costs are quoted separately and included with your estimate. We work with trusted third-party freight companies and obtain multiple shipping quotes to ensure you receive the best available rate.

Can I customize my smoker?

  • Absolutely! Every smoker is built to order, so you can customize it to suit your needs.  Whether you're looking for additional shelves, custom colours, upgraded fireboxes, trailer packages, storage, branding, or a completely one-of-a-kind design, we'll work with you to build the perfect smoker.

Do you finance?

  • At this time, Lewis BBQ MFG does not offer in-house financing. Payment is required according to the terms outlined in your quote or invoice. If financing is needed, many customers choose to arrange funding through their bank, credit union, or a third-party lender prior to purchasing.  We're happy to provide a detailed quote to assist with your financing application.

Do you require a deposit?

  • We do not require a deposit. Instead, full payment is due at the time of order to secure your build slot and begin fabrication. As each product is custom built to order, all payments are non-refundable.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • We currently accept the following payment methods:

    • Wire Transfer

    • e-Transfer (Interac e-Transfer)

    • Cash

For larger purchases, we're happy to accept multiple e-Transfers over several days, provided this has been arranged with us in advance.

Do you offer a warranty?

  • Yes. We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of every product we build.

All Lewis BBQ MFG products are covered by a one-year workmanship warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic changes caused by heat or weather, improper use, lack of maintenance, modifications made by others, or damage caused by accidents or misuse.

If you ever have a concern with your smoker or BBQ equipment, please contact us. We're committed to working with our customers to find a fair and practical solution.

How do I care for my smoker?

  • Proper care will keep your smoker looking great and performing at its best for years to come.

    • For patina-finished smokers, we recommend periodically wiping the exterior only with a mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits using a clean, lint-free cloth. This helps protect the finish while maintaining its natural appearance.  (Both products are readily available at most local hardware stores)

To keep your smoker in top condition, we also recommend:

Clean out ash after each use once it has completely cooled.

  • Remove grease and food debris regularly to help prevent buildup.

  • Store your smoker under cover or use a quality weatherproof cover when not in use.

  • Inspect moving parts and hinges periodically, and lubricate them if necessary.

  • Touch up any scratches or chips on painted models to help prevent rust.

With routine care and maintenance, your Lewis BBQ smoker is built to provide many years of reliable performance.

Note: The boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits mixture is intended for patina-finished smokers only and should never be applied to the interior or cooking surfaces of the smoker.
